As you are probably well aware, there have been some updates to the Google algorithm related to content and tracking down those that deserve to be higher up the SERP’s.

However, there had been no real way previously for Google to know just what visitors really thought of a page and just how useful the content was – that was until the introduction of the Google +1 Button!

This button allows visitors to your website to effectively ‘vote’ for your page if they like what is there, if they can be bothered of course! Low votes doesn’t mean poot content, but can mean that perhaps the number of +1′s could be increased by a more prominent position – again, if they can be bothered, which has been shown many times, visitors can’t always be! Sadly, there is no way round this!

But, you can help yourself!

OK, so we have established that we can’t make people click on a button, so the best thing to do is write… and keep on writing… more and more content to entice readership numbers and the help the search engines to continue returning.

Ensure at all times though, that you steer clear of ‘spun’ or copied content because Google will find this and likely mark you down for using it. If you don’t have the time to write it yourself, consider a professional Copywriter!
